https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuStudio/Artwork/OfficialOneiric If so the artist is Izo: http://www.design-by-izo.com/ I liked where he was going with those first several images, but had wanted the background texturing to look more like stone-like (not literally stone) with the CoF "etched into the stone" and located in the bottom right. The effect of the CoF "etched into stone" would be to infer that the CoF was etched long ago and slightly faded or less crisp around the corners so that the CoF is not overbearing or dominating the background image (which for production computers should not control or demand attention IMO), yet be subtly conspicuous if it were absent.
