Considering what Oven brought up on IRC about the future of realtime - (http://lwn.net/Articles/572740/, I would regard getting a realtime patched kernel into Ubuntu a pretty low priority right now. The work was intended for 16.04, but by that time, the whole, or most of the rt patch will most probably be merged upstream with the vanilla kernel.
So, once we will be able to turn a Ubuntu kernel into a linux-rt kernel, by just making a few config changes, it will be a lot easier to get such a kernel in. Also, as Oven pointed out, the future of how we achieve realtime may change in the future http://embeddedenea.com/2014/03/17/speculations-on-real-time-linux-future/. Considering these things, and that 14.10 will only be supported for 9 months, I'd rather make this blueprint a non priority - https://blueprints.launchpad.net/linux-rt/+spec/linux-rt-u -- ubuntu-studio-devel mailing list [email protected] Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-studio-devel
