We might also have a problem with our plymouth theme. Might cause problems in some cases. It happens to me sometimes, when getting to the decrypt prompt (if you encrypted your hard drives). Not sure we have a bug there, but Ubuntu Mate made a revision to their theme fixing a problem of theirs, so we should take a look at that and compare with our theme to make sure ours is optimal too.
