Application icons are not provided by the icon theme, at least not for
special apps that have nothing to do with the origin of the icon theme,
such as Ardour, GIMP or Incscape.
Aha, so when you change between different icon sets they will "only" change the
generic ones. I've been running dwm for years and a bit rusty on icon-based
computers.
