Hello Ubuntu studio crew I have had positive malware scans after installing everything in the past, using the av included in the Ubuntu studio distribution. It appeared to be part of a worm but incomplete, found on an app directory. Maybe a false positive back then, i didn't pay much attention as it seemed inoffensive and i was testing app installs and reformatted often the systems.
This brings up one point I would like to ask opinions and understand the current process. What is the process in place for scanning code, compiled code, apps, content found inside files using multiple levels of compression, etc. To help push use of Ubuntu studio distribution as a desktop computer replacement for Windows, can we have one day an av and firewall turned on right out of the bat after installing? ...maybe by proposing the option "Turn on AV, Firewall" during the installation process. cheers Fernando Cabal
