The first thing I would do would be to check that the mic capture is working in jack. Connect the jack soundcard input to the soundcard output and see if you hear anything (using headphones to avoid feedback) and/or connect the soundcard to Meterbridge (I think this is installed by default in ubuntustudio, but I'm not sure). If it doesn't work then you might do well to fiddle about in the qjackctl setup panel and/or with an audio mixer; alsamixergui is probably a good bet, but you might get more mileage out of gamix (you would need to install it first) if alsamixergui doesn't do the job. I have had trouble with the mic input on my audigy2 card, but not the same trouble on all kernels, so if absolutely nothing works there might just be a problem with the alsa driver for your card. Once you have your mic capture working then you can be confident that there is either a problem with the way you are using ardour or (but this is very unlikely) a problem with ardour itself. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.6 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFHBYjAyQ3sfGecJBIRAgL6AKCwAOpzBWoEDT4Cfd+eb6exWio4DQCeNjnd MVKwsZnKkcbacigjm96ZEqg= =cFo8 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- Ubuntu-Studio-users mailing list [email protected] Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-studio-users
