As a rule of thumb, for those cheap onboard things, if there is a "mic in" and
a "line in", the line in is stereo and the mic in has a "preamp" and is mono.
If there is only one input...maybe its mono.
To check out for sure, if ubuntu spots your card, check the alsamixer in the
terminal....it will show you al your ins and outs, and how they are laid
out....If you are a newbie like me, just type alsamixer in the terminal window,
