The desktop environment (GNOME) can all be switched to Russian
changing your locale language in the settings. The most apps will also
change, since most have internationalization. If your favorite app
doesn't have Russian after you try this, and it supports
internationalization you can translate it yourself.

The code makes references to keys like in a dictionary, then to show
the text it looks for the text in the .po file of the prefered
language, if it hasn't been translated to that language it uses
default (usually english).
