I don't work here, but me three. Start with Ubuntu first, get all the day to day stuff working, and then install ubuntustudio metapackages on top of it. That's what I just did on my laptop. I couldn't get video to work with Ubuntu Studio at all, so I started with plain Kubuntu, and installed some metapackages on top of it. That more or less worked, though I had additional video problems to work out. Even the mainline 'Buntus would only give me 800x600 on my 1280x800 display, but that's a different story. (VIA Chrome.
