Hmm... i haven’t. But i can see why your suggestion could be a good idea, given the normal kernels are less specific kernels than the lowlatency (?) Frankly typing, my question comes out of pure curiosity: its been rendering a blender animation 24/7 for about 2 weeks now, and there's no overheating to notice.
