As a data point, I am using an ASUS M5A99X EVO R2.0 and AMD 6350 on
Ubuntu Studio 14.04. I do little live recording with the desktop -
laptop gets used for that, but the ASUS works well for post-production
mixing and editing of both audio and video.
Looks like the O.P. might be in the antipodes, not familiar with
suppliers there. Here in the U.S., Tiger Direct carries that motherboard.
