back in the 90s (and early 2000s), a LOT of Yamaha synths
had a "to Host" port which was an small round 8-pin port that
connected to your computer by a 9-pin serial (COM) port (and on later
models, 8-pin to USB port).

The Yamaha driver was called the CBX driver.  This was, basically,
an early version of "midi over USB" (or at least, "midi over serial").

So, is there an Ubuntu (or any linux) version of the CBX driver
available? I've done a lot of searches with *every* combo of search terms I could think of... nothing.

It seems like it would be rather easy to reverse engineer the protocol that is being used. So it seem odd that it *hasn't* been done by now...
