Hi Mac, If you are getting a crash, then that should probably be reported as a bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntustudio-controls/+filebug
Or type "ubuntu-bug ubuntustudio-controls" on the command line. After that you could try using ubuntustudio-installer to add our backports-ppa and see if the latest versions of Ubuntu Studio packages have the problem already fixed.
