Title: Unity place files needs internationalization support Status in Ubuntu Translations: Fix Released Status in Unity: Fix Released Status in Unity Files Lens: Fix Released Status in “unity” package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Status in “unity-place-files” package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Bug description: Binary package hint: unity-place-files Right now Unity place files lacks i18n support, which effectively means it is not translatable. In order to comply with the main inclusion process (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MainInclusionProcess), the Ubuntu philosophy (http://www.ubuntu.com/project/about-ubuntu/our-philosophy), and in short for non-English speakers to be able to use it, the application needs to implement internationalization. This means adding gettext support, marking visible strings for translation and exposing them in Launchpad. For more information see the internationalization guide at: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuDevelopment/Internationalisation (still WIP). It would be very useful to have this in place by the User Interface Freeze on the 26th of August, so that translators can then start doing their work according to the release schedule. Thanks!
