Its would be much appropriate if we could sort out a mechanism to
distinguish KDE, GNOME, XFCE and other packages...

That will help us to have a dedicated approach towards translations :-)

yes, it will be great to have KDE GNOME and XFCE separated. it simplifies
translation.


I am also for this suggestion. Searchable tags like "kubuntu" or "ubuntu"
would be most welcome. Perhaps if we all shout about it someone will hear us
...
