First thanks for helping us out with testing this: If you get the branch: bzr branch lp:~muffinresearch/ubuntu-start-page/add-rtl-script cd add-rtl-script/www/current/ The generated files are in the branch so it should just be a case of opening up index.html in your browser. e.g: firefox index.html The code and regexes are based on existing code written by google engineers to perform this task. The input should switch between RTL and LTR depending on the the input chars. The script is provided across all the localised fils so the file you start with doesn't really matter. Though if you want to, feel free to test with the index.html correct for your primary language. If you find it fails (doesn't use ltr or rtl correctly) for a given string please provide an example of a string that fails. Also any other feedback please add to the bug report. I'm interested in making sure that it works expected for more than the contrived cases I'd throw at it! Thanks again!
