Hi All,

We (Ubuntu-gr) encountered this locale error in the Ubuntu installer
(Ubiquity),
"Ubiquity does not create correct UTF-8 locales"
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/1158750

Specifically,
1. you install Ubuntu 13.04 and select English as the installation language,
2. Ubiquity uses geoIP to detect your timezone, and strangely enough adds
(for our case) the "el_GR' locale for LC_TIME, LC_NUMERIC, etc. However,
LANG=en_US.UTF-8.

Because by mistake the locale is el_GR (instead of el_GR.UTF-8),
applications that need to show the locale strings for Greek fail:
a. the calendar in the GUI, top-right (see bug report for screenshot).
Because it needs to show the months and days that come from the locale.
b. 'ls -l' does not work because it needs to show the months and days that
comes from the locale.

Thus,
a. Is there anyone else affected?
b. What shall we do to get someone to be assigned to the bug report?

Simos
