Last Wednesday (May 7) we there was a Doc team meeting [1] and because there were no Server people there I was asked to dump my Server-related notes to the mailing lists instead.
This is a summary of the state/activities of the Server Guide. Let me know what you think and especially if you want to help maintain the guide. 1. Revisit option of moving from XML Docbook to RST Markdown - Objective: lowering barrier to contribution; a common complaint - We have lots of time since the Server Guide is only officially published every LTS - I've already gone over the main machinations to do this - Primary issue is fixing all the broken stuff caused by the conversion (lots of broken hyperlinks) - Secondary issue is settling on the appearance/theme; example here: http://serverguide.papamike.ca:8081/ - Discuss changes in workflow for translators as part of changing to Markdown 2. Find people to help with the above - Find people to help with the guide in general. In particular, Doug Smythies will not be available for the 14.10 cycle so we need even more help than usual. 3. Come up with ideas to promote the Server Guide so as to attract more contributors peter matulis [1]: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MeetingLogs/DocTeam -- ubuntu-translators mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-translators
