Well, this page describes the process for per request updates:

However, personally I think we should keep using a fixed schedule as a
base, with per request updates as a possibility when needed. One reason
is that new members of the translation teams aren't likely familiar with
the applicable procedures. I, for instance, didn't have a clue two days
ago. ;) Calls for testing on this list will hopefully serve as useful
guidance.
