While that's generally pretty true, if you run your own server, or want
a really solid desktop without wanting to keep upgrading every six
months, it means you get 3 or 5 years (desktop/server respectively) of
security updates.
"Support" means "Canonical will sell support for" and "Ubuntu will
release security and critical bug updates for".
