it didnt give me an option to install a prop driver,. infact i never even got 
to that stage. I got to the main menu. One normal "install ubuntu or run live 
CD" it starts loading. The little box fills up with the little orange color 
showing progress.. then then the screen goes blank and a blue screen 
appears....i scroll down and it mentions something about no monitor deteced 
and/or something about graphical interface and then it states GDM will 
restart!!!
 
and it goes into text mode...something im not familiar with so i just have to 
restart !

You might find a Gutsy install gives you fewer problems - have you tried a 
LiveCD btw? Did you get a display when you booted that up?
