Sorry... I'd read that the wrong way around... if you *require* www to
resolve then the virtual domain on the server has been set up with a "www."
prefix on it, which is a common mistake... the domain needs to be hosted
WITHOUT the www and then the www needs to be set via cname to point to the
domain itself.
