Do you mean a sort of drawing such as layout of a bathroom, or a manufacturing drawing of a double gate for welding? If so, then I can happily report that Open Office Draw is suitable and fairly simple. With the gate - overall size is about 2 meters square of welded iron bar and tube, I was able to create a scale drawing at about 1/16 size (for a4 printed page) and also extract dimensions to less than a millimeter.
