The M-Audio transit is very good in this respect. Simply a small box on the end of a USB cable with line in and Line / optical Out. I've used one at the Radio station I work for years (although I cannot say what the situation is like under Ubuntu - other M-Audio products seem to be supported)
Price should be around £60 - chris Weaver 2008/9/8 Adam Funk <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Would anyone like to recommend an external USB sound-device with a > line-in input, suitable for recording from a hi-fi line-level > connection using Audacity?
