Hi, I'm just guessing here, but it probably installs an autostart session entry. If you go to System->Preferences->Session, is it listed in "Startup programs"? If so, then you can disable it on each account where you don't want it. If you want to disable it by default then you need to find the .desktop file, it may be in /etc/xdg/autostart, where you can edit to add X-GNOME-Autostart-enabled=false to the end. I don't know how to do this for other DEs. You could also talk to the dropbox people about having a better system in place to handle this.
