IIRC if the machine can suspend/resume to disk, you always get a
message saying that it "failed to resume from disk, starting normally"
(or words to that effect). It does a quick check for a resume image
signature in the swap partition just before booting normally - this
check is very quick, and won't be causing Paul's problems.
