I am using 9.04 on my Acer Aspire 1690. I have purchased a USB-RS232 serial converter. dmesg shows this...
[17460.779196] USB Serial support registered for pl2303 [17460.779234] pl2303 3-2:1.0: pl2303 converter detected [17460.791352] usb 3-2: pl2303 converter now attached to ttyUSB0 [17460.791381] usbcore: registered new interface driver pl2303 [17460.791387] pl2303: Prolific PL2303 USB to serial adaptor driver I understand that the serial device is under /dev/ttyUSB0. What I need to do is get this to work under wine. I have a piece of amateur radio kit that needs a standard rs232 port. Would "LINKING" ttyUSB0 to ttyS0 work? If so how do I set this up permanently.
