AFAIK the only place you need to change the hostname is in the files /etc/hostname and /etc/hosts $ gksudo gedit /etc/hostname $ gksudo gedit /etc/hosts If you change the name in Windows it is only the name in Windows that will change, and if you change the name in Linux only the name in Linux will change.
