I upgraded my desktop from Xubuntu 9.04 to 9.10, and did a clean install of
Xubuntu 9.10 on my laptop.
I find that the notifications on my laptop have the new appearance; white on
black with blurring text as the notication fades. My desktop, however, still
has the older style notifications which are predominantly pale yellow with no
other visual enhancements. Both computers have the same window manager, tweak
and GUI settings. I like the new notification style. Is there any way I update
my desktop?
While it's hardly life or death, it seems that taking the upgrade option does
not have exactly the same end result as a clean install. I wonder if there are
any other known differences which may impact in something more important that
cosmetic issues.
