That's good to hear. Once you've got back the data it's probably a good idea to start archiving off the importent stuff that you want to keep. Not sure what everyone else thinks is best for archiving, I tend to archive important stuff (like family photos, videos etc) onto DVD-RAM discs and maybe also high quality DVDs too. It's also a good idea every so often to check the backup media just to make sure it works, I've had some CD and DVD media fail after a couple of years with read errors, but no the other hand some media is still working okay.
