Hi all Any product like Alex aims at those who don't use, or won't use, computers. However, the problems of bringing these peple into main stream computer use are far more complex. Have a look at
http://www.communities.gov.uk/publications/communities/understandi ngdigitalexclusion (Sorry if my mailer wraps this link) It highlights the elderly or socially disadvantaged (or both) as those most likely not to use computers. I cannot see either group flocking to use Alex. I think it is still too technically offputting for may elderly people, for instance. By the way, can we not use the term 'silver surfers' to refer, in any way, to older people who are unconfident or timid of using computers. The term really refers to the more adventurous users of a certain age. I feel very strongly, probably because I am over 65 myself, that we must avoid being ageist in any way.
