I have an F4580. It works fine using the USB cable both printing and scanning using the latest HPLIP drivers. The down side is that the wireless connectivity is very poor. It is the hardware that is at fault as it does not work with my two Win XP machines either. The problem is that the printer goes into a power saving mode if you do not use it for more than a few minutes. The power saving mode shuts down the wireless, and it will not wake up on LAN, only by using the USB. HP help desk is no help at all; they just tell you to re-install the drivers for every problem. This is the main reason why it is being offered cheap. Barry -- [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-uk https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UKTeam/
