It needs sudo to install since the default install location is "/opt"
It's best to download the ".air" manually then install it get it here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/dm/version2/revisions/bbc_iplayer_desktop_v307.air It should be the latest version not sure! go to your ~/Downloads directory and install using: u...@laptop:~$ Adobe\ AIR\ Application\ Installer ~/Downloads/bbc_iplayer_desktop_v307.air That should work. (Note the adobe air installer needs the absolute path in order to install.)
