Machines generally need to be /doing/ something to run hot. Top cause
is normally some forgotten browser tab sat at a page containgin a
badly-coded flash menu or advert that is using 100% CPU.
Try running and 'top' and 'iotop' when you've felt it getting over
temperature and see if "plugin-container" or similar is at the top of
the list.
