I missed that detail as I came into the thread late. But at the end of the day, sbackup is just a Python script that gets run by anacron (usually). There is a GUI to configure it, but if you can hack the config file you might be in business. I'm kind of thinking out loud here and I might be totally off the mark but there may be some mileage here.
