Oh, I didn't mean it as a workaround or an excuse, more as a general musing.
OK I acknowledge that part of my moaning has to do with being required to undertake a substantial learning curve and habit modification but, really, what am I getting from Unity that makes it worth it? I think we should be told . . .
I think most of the problems with Unity are that it's less featureful and less configurable than Gnome 2, rather than merely people being afraid of change.
