They traditionally do switch between US and Europe, but if someone makes a compelling case for it to be held somewhere different and a suitable venue can be found, then that will happen.

Also worth noting in general the service in the US is better and far cheaper than in Europe. Not wishing to sleight our European cousins, but for events, the US really does have venues and facilities really sewn up. Just a shame that some of the venues are so far from places for evenings out, but that's nicely offset by all the coaches that Canonical lays on for attendees. :)

I was lucky in Florida, the cheapest flight we could get included a car in the deal, so I could drive around. Conversely in Europe we've tended to have good public transport.
