When I do a software update sometimes I'm asked to re-start. So I click on
the star in the top right hand corner of the desk top menu and a drop-down
menu displays two options:- shutdown and re-start. I click on re-start as
requested and when it's complete I have no network connection. So I power
off and wait awhile and then power on. The network connection is ok! I'm
using 14.04.
Before I power off I click on the network icon and the drop-down menu does
not show my network! I then 'Edit connections' and try to create my
connection by adding my SSID but to no avail as the rest of the menu is
unhelpful as my pin has no explicit input box! I hope this explains the
anomaly which is not critical as I have a workaround option as above.
