While I think some uniformity (particularly in the URLs we use) may be helpful, I don't think it is really a show stopper for new people joining the group.
Also, if we're going to try to create some uniformity in the website/twitter/identica/facebook URLs, I have to agree with Eric here: Ubuntu California (Team) makes the most sense. ubuntu-us-ca is un-sayable and has no sex-appeal (to me, it actually sounds even more corporate than Ubuntu California).
