I am having a devil of a time reporting an installation bug with 12.10 alpha 3 which really ends up being an enhancement request. ubuntu-bug won't allow me to do it and so far even though I have an account on launchpad I don't see how to do it.
I will describe the bug as I am hopeful that someone else has seen it or would be willing to try and reproduce it. During install when you get to the screen to install side-by-side, erase everything and install on the entire hard drive or go into custom partitioning. If I go into custom partitioning and do nothing other than look at the screens and decide that I don't want to be in this play-ground and hit the back button. Then I select the option to allow Ubuntu to utilize the entire disk. When the installation was done and requested a reboot I found that Ubuntu would not start up at all. No grub, no nothing. However, if I put back in the USB install stick and power up the machine it would then automatically go to the hard drive and run the new Ubuntu. Anyone seen this behavior??? I reinstalled not going to the customized partitioning screen and everything is fine now. Cheers, Bob
