TEKsystems is seeking a Linux admin for a 3+ month contract position at Kennedy Space Center. Candidate will be the main POC for the data transition, serving as the Linux Red Hat (multiple versions) SME for IMCS (the receiving end of the data) while ensuring no loss of user functionality or downtime during Shuttle Launch/Landing mission support activities. There are a total of 14 servers to be transitioned to existing Dell/IBM hardware as well as a number of COTS, open-source and custom applications, web pages and databases. Candidate will setup, configure and verify servers, assign new IP addresses, request DNS entry as required, review scripts for accuracy and ensure interconnectivity. Candidate will work with DBA and GIS teams but knowledge of Oracle and ESRI/GIS is helpful. Extensive knowledge of Linux Red Hat (multiple versions) is a must as well as scripting experience. Knowledge of SSH, XWindows or Samba is also required. Fedora, Apache 2.2, PHP, Perl, Mason, and Cisco Pix is helpful. All candidates must be US citizens and be able to pass drug, background and credit checks.
