Brian,

Thanks for the feedback! -- as for being idle while classes are going on, no problem! I know you idle on -oh a lot, and I'm psyched to see that :)

I'm trying to start getting IRC set up as our nerve center. In a month, I hope to have it integrated 100% with the teams functions. With any luck we should be able to manage the team, and communicate with everyone via IRC.

This might also be a good time to provide some "training/help" for many of us that are new to IRC.  Maybe give step by step instructions as to what software we should use, how to sign-up, get connected, and actually use this type of service.  Maybe you could even have an "on-line" training session once we get signed up and have it for the newbies where the action goes a little slow.  I've watched some demo's on the Internet with a few different chat programs and it sometimes makes my head spin not knowing how to follow threads.  Maybe it was because the chat room had too many different conversations going on, but some of us "older users" who are new to this type of communication might take part more if we knew how to deal with all this.

Thanks,

John

Mathay,

Right there with ya man. Right there.

Hey Paul,

I took a look at your plan and think it is tremendous.  I agree completely with everything in there.

I'm extraordinarily busy with work right now, but once we're done with the "busy season" (fall thru mid-winter quarters at OSU) I will begin getting more involved.

I like the direction you are guiding this team, so I want to do my part in helping you get us going down the path you've laid out.  I was getting slightly discouraged with the lack of participation, specifically in the IRC channel.  I'd be in there but nobody but you would ever talk, so I stopped coming in.

Cmon peoples the IRCs is easy!  #ubuntu-us-oh on freenode!  Join in and let's have some fun, and let's get involved!

Lates.
