Okay. I've just been reading on Identi.ca about the lovely flap involving an Ubuntu Member in New Zealand so I kinda missed the start of this thread. That flap will relate to the Software Freedom Day note I am now re-writing so we can put our best foot forward in spreading Ubuntu.
We've got $66.23 in the pool that can be obligated at this point. If we cannot get a conference pack, what else can we do within our resources? 1. If anybody has a Lightscribe burner (or more), we can make our own nice-looking CDs for distribution. 2. A small order can be done with FedexOffice to print hand-outs. We need to have the print job's extent settled one week before show time. Considering the Kiwi who shot his mouth off on the planet earlier, it is going to be rather important that we use appropriate PR skills to deflect from that mess. Since we're not getting anything from Canonical we're going to have to hurriedly make our own. 3. T-shirts take about a month in terms of lead-time to order from a supplier. Unless we wanted to do our own silk-screening of the Ubuntu Ohio logo, that's out the window as an option right now. 4. If somebody can find a suitably-sized punch bowl and ladle, we could go with custom-print M&M's bearing logos.
