I just wanted to mention that the recent discussion of alternate window managers/desktops has been the most interesting thing I've seen on the mailing list lately. I'm an avid Gnome fan who has recently come into possession of an older laptop and began appreciating openbox/gnome via Crunchbang (Ubuntu-based). I'm not totally clear on the window manager/desktop manager difference so I'll be paying attention to further emails in the thread!
