Cody, I think you have a great idea, and having a VoIP Ubuntu help line similar to "Call for Help", which was a tech help show with Leo Laporte as host technical adviser for the show, that aired during the great tech epoch of the late 90s. Where "Call for Help" was phone based, the Ubuntu Call for Help would be, as Cody stated online via VoIP.
If implemented with usability, interoperability, and of course security in mind, then this could become a huge benefit to the Linux Ubuntu community. My only concern is requiring a client app to be installed, as this detracts from both usability, and interoperability, by requiring client to first install an application before they can seek help. Q1. Is there any existing turn-key web based solutions, that doesn't require software to be installed, instead uses the browser, or at minimum a browser plug-in? ;-) I still think it's a great idea, regardless of how it's implemented, and can only further help the Ubuntu community. Cody - if you can't find a server to run your VoIP idea, please let me know and I'll see if I can allow you to use my company's server. Respectfully submitted for your consideration, Sincerely Phillip.
