I have my suspicions that SteamOS will be pulled into becoming more of a "desktop" in the same way that, e.g. the Xbox has. Since it's so easy to plug a keyboard into thanks to the Linux kernel… ☺ You can find information on membership here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Membership The first step is making a wiki page for yourself. Let me know if you need help with that or any other step in the process. I would be happy to facilitate your membership. Ultimately, that is one of our goals as a LoCo *AHEM NON-MEMBERS* ☺ Regarding the manual, it doesn't seem you're a member of the team or registered to the list? I'm sure there's more work to do: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-manual Either way, make sure to document and provide links to your contributions on your wiki! If you wanted to something else, there's always a need for manual testing. With KDE 5, LXQt, Unity8, Mir, and systemd all hitting us at once, there's a lot of work to double check! Regarding in person sort of things, we could always use as much help as possible at Linux Fest Northwest. The more of us that are there, the less of time commitment so we can all enjoy the festivities more together ☺ Even if you don't wish to do that, just meeting in person is a great way to learn about each other and find new ways to contribute.
