I don't know if this is related, but in 15.04 beta I got hangs and lockups on Firefox 37.0 until I turned off the "use hardware acceleration when available" feature under Menu -> Preferences -> Advanced -> General tab and then restarted the browser. I have an AMD Radeon HD 5770 video card and the fglrx (proprietary) graphics driver. With the "use hardware acceleration when available" on, Firefox was using 100% of one core almost every time I changed web page. With it off, it jumps to 80% for a few seconds and then returns to normal.
