I too have a samsung nf-210 and am also affected by this bug. This is indeed a kernel bug and not related to xserver-xorg-video-intel :) Most likely the new protocol has to be reversed so a new patch for the psmouse driver can be written. Is there actually anyone working on this bug atm?
