I'm not sure how you managed to get your system set up with both -nvidia
and xserver 1.9.99, but that's totally incompatible. -nvidia does not
yet have xserver 1.10 support.

-nvidia broken after Jan 31st updates, because it does not yet support
xserver 1.10
