These font glitches have been there as long as I've been using natty, but they seems to be gone with the update two days ago. They appeared randomly and I didn't discovered a pattern. I didn't find an activity to trigger this bug. IIRC, minimizing the window did not clear the glitches, but selecting a different channel (in Xchat) or folder (in Evolution) helped.
